That Darn Weightloss Goal

So, I don't think that I actually posted my weightloss "Goal" - My goal is 142 lbs - I haven't been this weight since before I had Darrell, but I was this weight after I had Kennedy.  I don't expect to go much lower than this - but that means that I still have 40 lbs to lose.  Well - fine - 38. (Give or take 2 depending on water consumption).  I am in week 5 of my consistent exercise regime - and I am starting to add in other exercises as needed.  Things like, weights - Yoga - stretching - and Abs.  So, it's not just cardio anymore. We are doing something all new.  (I know you are all excited, huh).  Instead of weighing all the time, I am doing measuring, which I have found that I prefer - I like to see that I lost a whole inch. :) That's something to really smile about.

I recently read that...

"Many women who exercise as part of their weight loss program become frustrated initially when they don't lose weight. They don't realize that training increases muscle size, and muscle tissue weighs more than fat.

As you develop muscle and lose fat, you may lose inches instead of pounds. You may even gain weight, but you'll appear slimmer and trimmer. Because you're lowering your body-fat percentage and increasing your metabolic rate, you're improving your physical fitness considerably.

So what's the best way to lose weight? Combining diet and exercise results in more weight loss than dieting alone. When you lose weight, you lose lean body mass as well as fat."

So, Perhaps I will start adding in some weights as well.  Guess we will go a few more weeks and see what we come up with. In the meantime, happy weightloss goals everyone!
